Simvastatin 5, 10, 20, 40mg tablets
CATEGORY
Statin. It Lowers TC, LDLC, TG and raises HDLC
INDICATIONS
1. As an adjunct to diet for decrease of elevated total and LDL-Cholesterol
and also elevated TG.
2. To reduce the total mortality, heart attack, stroke revascularisation
in high risk patients of CHD and diabetes.
DOSAGE
Initial dose 5-10mg at bed time. The effect is evident within 4-6
weeks and marked response is obtained within 2 weeks. The maximum
dose is 80 mg daily. Drug therapy should be discontinued if serum
transaminase levels increase greater than 3 times the upperlimit
of normal.
