INDICATIONS
For the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients of
1. Transient Ischemic attacks & stroke
2. Peripheral artery disease
3. Ischaemic Heart Disease
4. Prevention of Restenosis :-
To ensure sucessful outcome of angiosplasty and stenting
Ticlopidine is adminstered 2-5 days prior to procedure and followed for 15-30 days in combination with aspirin
5. Other Indications :-
a) Prevention of thrombotic events in patients undergoing haemodialysis, carotid endartectomy or extra corporeal circulation
b) Prevention of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy
c)Prevention of cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
A daily dose of ticlopidine 500mg, administered orally as 250mg tablets bid with food, is recommended. Upto 4 tablets (daily dosage 1000mg) can be administered for short term treatment but patient requires careful monitoring
