| Eptifibatide is a cyclic
heptapeptide that reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation by binding
to a GP-IIb/IIIa receptor site on platelets. Eptifibatide is produced
by using a method based on solid phase peptide synthesis technology.
The crude material thus produced is purified by RP-HPLC and characterized
by polarimetry, amino acid analysis, NMR, MALDI-TOF, LC-MS, Ion
chromatography and platelet aggregation assay for biological activity.
We are now synthesizing Eptifibatide in a cGMP compliant
facility. The indigenously developed Eptifibatide
is marketed in the Indian market under the brand name ‘CoroMax’.
