ABOUT US

We are a leading health care company with the following areas of focus: Branded Generics, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Bio-similars. Sixty-six  percent of our business is contributed by the India operations and the rest by export of APIs and Branded Generics.

India: By Rx (prescription), we rank No. 1 in Diabetes and Cardiovascular disease segments. We have an active in-licensing program to enhance our product portfolio. The strategy is to introduce innovative specialized products while retaining a focus on brand building.

APIs: We have established our presence in the international market as the largest generic manufacturer of Metformin worldwide. Currently we have a portfolio of 39  APIs with a focus on regulated markets. Our plants have been inspected and approved by global agencies like US FDA and TGA, Australia. We add value by supporting our customers in their effort at being “early to market” by offering products with superior features, backed by excellent regulatory support during the development and commercial phases.

R&D: In the area of biotechnology research, we offer rDNA proteins and peptides backed by validated bio-assays, clinical trials and intellectual property rights. The first product of this effort is Eptifibatide, a cyclical Heptapeptide which is indicated for the treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome and in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. The Finished Dosage Form has been launched in the Indian market as CoroMax. We look for alliances in areas of mutual interest benefiting from developments in our laboratories, which are currently manned by 221 scientists. 9% of sales revenue each year is invested in research and we currently hold 28 patents and have 50 submissions to our credit. Our drug delivery laboratory works on value added dosages. Recently we out-licensed 1000 mg Slow Release Metformin to Green Cross Pharmaceutical Corporation, Korea and negotiations for similar arrangements in other countries are in process. A major expansion of our R&D facilities involving a new building adjacent to the existing corporate headquarters, has been completed.

Niche Generics: We offer finished products with marketing authorization for the EU and US markets. Our efforts in the US are commercialized through Indicus Pharma LLC.
